Thank you for visiting my campaign web site. I am often asked, “Why would you run for office.” The answer is that we are at a critical point in our history. The choices we make now will affect us, our children, and all future generations.

Our population has increased dramatically in recent years, and it will, by most estimates, double by the year 2030. In the light of that projection, our common goals become common causes. We must plan for growth, not react to it. We must make investments in teachers and our schools, not sit idly by while our school system is overburdened. We must insist on access to affordable health care, not allow the young and old among us to go without. We must protect our environment and provide an efficient supply of high quality drinking water, not allow our communities and our economy to become stagnant. We must not allow our transportation system to fall behind; and, we must nourish small businesses, not stifle them.

We are blessed with a beautiful community, a high quality of life, and an exceptional natural and economic environment. That does not happen by accident, and it will take energy and hard work to make certain that future generations enjoy the opportunities that have made North Carolina such a wonderful home for so many of us.

My background and life experiences have given me a passion for public service and have prepared me to lead. Wake County needs an effective Senator who will vigorously work with the other members of our delegation to advance our common causes. Together, we can advance the causes that will shape this community into the place we want it to be – for ourselves and for children.

Thank you again for visiting my website and learning about my campaign, where I stand on the issues, and about me. Please join our efforts, let me know what issues are important to you, sign up for email updates, place a sign in your yard, and contribute financially, if you can. Together, we can prepare our district, our region, and our state for the future.

Sincerely,
